    30 Prayers for Loss of Pet with Scriptures to Back

    Losing a beloved pet is a deeply emotional experience, and prayer can provide much-needed solace.

    These heartfelt prayers and biblical verses are designed to support and comfort you during this difficult time.

    30 Prayers for Loss of Pet

    1. Acts 2:14

    But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words.

    Lord, in this time of grief over the loss of my beloved pet, I turn to you for comfort and solace.

    I know that you are a God of all comfort, and I pray that you would wrap your loving arms around me and bring me peace that surpasses all understanding.

    Help me to remember the joy my pet brought into my life, the love we shared, and the precious memories we created.

    2. Psalm 34:18

    The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the afflicted.

    Lord, I acknowledge that you are near to the brokenhearted, and I come to you with a heart heavy with sorrow.

    I pray that you would heal the ache in my heart and mend the broken pieces of my soul. I know that you are a God of restoration, and I trust that you will bring healing and wholeness to my life in your own time.

    3. Romans 8:28

    And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

    Lord, I may not understand why my pet had to leave this earth, but I trust that you are working all things together for good, according to your perfect plan.

    Help me to find peace in knowing that my pet is now in your loving care, free from pain and suffering.

    4. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

    Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

    Lord, I thank you for being a God of all comfort. I pray that you would comfort me in this time of grief and give me the strength to face each day.

    I also pray that you would use me to comfort others who are grieving the loss of a beloved pet.

    5. Isaiah 40:31

    But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

    Lord, I pray that you would renew my strength and give me the courage to face the days ahead.

    Help me to remember that you are always with me, and that you will never leave me nor forsake me.

    6. Philippians 4:6-7

    Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

    Lord, I cast all my anxieties about the loss of my pet upon you. I pray that you would grant me peace that surpasses all understanding and guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

    7. John 14:27

    Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

    Lord, thank you for the peace that you offer me. I pray that I would experience your peace in the midst of this grief and that it would calm my anxious heart.

    8. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

    Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

    Lord, I choose to rejoice in the memories I have of my beloved pet. I pray without ceasing for your comfort and guidance. I give thanks for the time I was blessed to have with my furry friend.

    9. Psalm 23:4

    Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 

    Lord, I may be walking through a valley of grief and sadness, but I know that you are with me. Your presence brings me comfort and strength.

    10. 1 Peter 5:7

    Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

    Lord, I cast all my anxieties about the loss of my pet on you, knowing that you care for me deeply.

    11. Lamentations 3:22-23

    The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

    Lord, I thank you for your steadfast love and enduring mercies. I know that your faithfulness is new every morning, and I trust that you will continue to walk with me through this difficult time.  

    12. 1 Corinthians 10:13

    No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

    Lord, I know that you are faithful and will not allow me to be tempted beyond what I am able to bear. I pray that you will make a way for me to escape from this overwhelming grief and find healing and peace.

    13. Jeremiah 29:11

    For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a hope and a future.

    Lord, I trust that you have a plan for my life, even in the midst of this loss. I pray that you would give me hope for the future and help me to find joy in the days to come.

    14. 1 John 4:19

    We love because he first loved us.

    Lord, I know that you loved my pet even more than I did. I thank you for the gift of their love in my life and for the reminder of your own boundless love for me.

    15. Romans 15:13

    May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

    Lord, I pray that you would fill me with all joy and peace in believing in your promises. I pray that you would abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

    O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

    Lord, I thank you for the victory that you have won over death through Jesus Christ.

    I pray that I would find comfort in knowing that death has been defeated and that I will one day be reunited with my beloved pet in your eternal presence.

    17. Psalm 147:3

    He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

    Lord, I pray that you would heal the broken heartedness in my soul and bind up the wounds that I have suffered from the loss of my pet.

    For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

    Lord, I pray that you would empower me to overcome my fear and grief with love and self-control.

    Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.

    Lord, I choose to trust in you with all my heart. I acknowledge you in all my ways, and I pray that you would direct my paths.

    Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

    Lord, I thank you for the hope of eternal life that you have given me through Jesus Christ. I pray that I would find comfort in knowing that I will one day be reunited with my beloved pet in your eternal kingdom.

    20. John 15:11

    I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.

    Lord, I pray that I may experience your joy in the midst of this grief and that my joy may be full.

    21. Hebrews 13:5

    Keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.

    Lord, I pray that I would be content with the memories I have of my beloved pet and find peace in knowing that you will never leave me nor forsake me.

    Lord, I pray that my faith in you would remain strong, and that I would always cling to the hope of eternal life. But most importantly, I pray that I would continue to love you and others, even in the midst of this grief.

    I lift up my eyes to the hills. From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

    Lord, I lift my eyes to you, the maker of heaven and earth. I know that my help comes from you, and I pray that you would be my strength and my refuge in this time of need.

    Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.  

    Lord, I know that this grief is only a momentary affliction. I pray that I would keep my eyes fixed on the eternal weight of glory that awaits me and that I would find comfort in knowing that the things that are seen are temporary, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

    25. Revelation 21:4

    He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.

    Lord, I long for the day when there will be no more tears, no more mourning, and no more pain. I pray that I will one day be reunited with my beloved pet in your eternal kingdom, where all sorrow and suffering will be no more.

    26. Ephesians 2:8-9

    For by grace, you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 

    Lord, I thank you for the gift of salvation that you have freely given to me. I know that I am saved by your grace, not by my own works.

    I pray that I would always remember that my salvation is a gift from you, and that I would live my life in gratitude for your love and mercy.

    27. 1 John 1:9

    If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

    Lord, I confess any sins that I have committed against you or others. I pray that you would forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness.

    28. Colossians 3:1-4

    If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

    Lord, I pray that I would set my mind on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. I pray that I would live my life in such a way that reflects the glory of Christ.

    29. Romans 12:12

    Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

    Lord, I choose to rejoice in the hope of eternal life with you. I will be patient in this time of tribulation, knowing that you are with me. And I will be constant in prayer, seeking your guidance and comfort.

    30. John 16:33

    I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take 1 heart! I have overcome the world.

    Lord, I thank you for these words of comfort. I know that in this world, I will face trials and tribulations, including the loss of my beloved pet.

    But I take heart, knowing that you have overcome the world and that you are with me in this time of need. I pray that I will find peace in your presence and that I will trust in your promises of eternal life.
