30 Prayers for Spiritual Warfare with Scriptures to Back

By Pst. Williams ChurchillJanuary 28, 2025

In our daily battles against spiritual adversaries, having a collection of powerful prayers supported by scripture can bring immense strength and clarity.

These prayers are paired with a Bible verse to enhance your spiritual resilience and provide divine assurance in your journey.

Whether you’re seeking courage, protection, or peace, these prayers serve as a reminder of God’s unwavering presence and promises.

    30 Prayers for Spiritual Warfare

    1. Acts 2:14

But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne today, acknowledging Your sovereignty and power over all things.

We are engaged in a spiritual battle against the forces of darkness, principalities, and powers of this world. We pray for Your divine intervention and protection as we navigate these challenging times.

    2. Ephesians 6:10-18

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened the belt of truth around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having been equipped with the readiness provided by the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.

Lord, we acknowledge that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against unseen spiritual forces. We pray for the strength that only comes from You, empowering us to withstand the schemes of the enemy.

We put on the full armor of God, girding ourselves with truth, righteousness, and the peace of the gospel. We shield ourselves with faith, quenching the fiery darts of the enemy.

We protect our minds with the helmet of salvation and wield the sword of Your Word, praying without ceasing in the Spirit. We stand firm in our faith, knowing that You are our ultimate victory.

    3. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

For though we live in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.

Lord, we recognize that our warfare is not fought with human strength or worldly weapons.

We acknowledge the divine power that resides within us, empowering us to dismantle strongholds of sin and deception in our lives and in the world around us.

We pray for the wisdom to discern and demolish every argument and thought that opposes Your truth.

We submit our minds to Your Lordship, allowing Your Word to transform our thinking and align our desires with Your will.

    4. Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Lord, we surrender our anxieties and concerns to You. We trust in Your perfect timing and sovereign plan.

We come before You in prayer, presenting our requests with thanksgiving, knowing that You hear and answer our prayers according to Your will.

We pray for the peace that surpasses all human understanding to guard our hearts and minds, keeping us anchored in Your love and hope.

    5. 1 Peter 5:8-9

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.

Lord, we remain vigilant and sober-minded, aware of the enemy’s schemes and his relentless pursuit to devour us. We resist his temptations and attacks, standing firm in our faith, knowing that we are not alone in this battle.

We draw strength from the knowledge that Your Spirit empowers us to overcome every obstacle and stand victorious.

    6. Ephesians 1:19-20

And what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.

Lord, we marvel at the immeasurable greatness of Your power that is at work within us as believers. We remember the resurrection of Christ, a powerful display of Your victory over death and sin.

We are seated with Him in heavenly places, far above all earthly powers and dominions. We claim this authority in prayer, declaring Your sovereignty over every circumstance in our lives.

    7. Colossians 2:15

Having disarmed the rulers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

Lord, we rejoice in the victory of Christ on the cross. Through His sacrifice, You disarmed the rulers and authorities of darkness, stripping them of their power and authority over us.

We claim this victory in our own lives, declaring that we are free from the bondage of sin and the dominion of the enemy.

    8. 1 John 4:4

Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Lord, we acknowledge that You reside within us, and Your power is greater than any force of evil in this world. We claim this victory over the enemy, knowing that we are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us.

We walk in the freedom and authority that come from Your indwelling presence.

    9. Psalm 91:1-2

He who dwells in the shelter of the most high will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Lord, we seek refuge and protection in Your shadow. We trust in Your unwavering love and faithfulness. We know that You are our fortress, our shield, and our deliverer.

We abide in Your presence, secure in the knowledge that no harm can come to those who dwell under Your wings.

    10. 2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Lord, we humble ourselves before You, acknowledging our need for Your grace and mercy. We pray for revival in our hearts and in the world around us.

We seek Your face earnestly, turning from our sinful ways and embracing Your righteousness. We believe that You will hear our prayers, forgive our sins, and heal our land.

    11. James 4:7

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge Your authority and submit ourselves fully to Your will.

We resist the temptations and attacks of the enemy, knowing that he will flee from us when we stand firm in our faith and obedience to You.

    12. Psalm 23:4

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Lord, we may face trials and challenges that seem dark and daunting, but we walk through them without fear, knowing that You are with us every step of the way.

Your presence brings us comfort and strength, and we trust in Your guidance and protection.

    13. 1 John 5:4

For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

Lord, as Your children, we are born of God and possess the power to overcome the world and its temptations. We claim this victory through our faith in You, knowing that Your Spirit within us is greater than any force of evil.

    14. Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Lord, we trust in You with all our hearts, surrendering our plans and desires to Your will. We acknowledge You in all our ways, seeking Your guidance and direction in every decision we make.

We trust that You will make our paths straight and lead us on the path of righteousness.

    15. 2 Timothy 1:7

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

Lord, we thank You for the gift of Your Spirit, which empowers us with strength, love, and self-control. We overcome fear with faith, knowing that You are with us and will never leave us nor forsake us.
