30 Psalm Prayer for Healing With Scriptures to Back

David wrote about sickness the way he wrote about everything else, honestly, without polishing the pain out of it first. “There is no health in my bones,” he admitted in one psalm, and in another, “You healed me.” Both were true at different moments, and both made it into Scripture.

These thirty verses come entirely from the Psalms, David’s own record of asking for healing and eventually finding it.

Pray these the way David wrote them, honestly, not skipping the hard parts to get to the resolved ones.

Psalm Prayer for Healing

1. Psalms 103:2-3 (KJV)

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;”

Prayer: You forgive all my sins and heal all my diseases. Let that cover this need too.

Let all genuinely mean all, including what I’m dealing with now.

2. Psalms 30:2 (KJV)

“O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.”

Prayer: I called to You for help, and You healed me. Let that be true again, right now.

Let calling out and healing happen close together this time.

3. Psalms 41:3 (KJV)

“The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.”

Prayer: Sustain me on my sickbed, and restore me from this illness.

Let sustaining happen even on the slow, unremarkable days.

4. Psalms 147:3 (KJV)

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

Prayer: Heal my broken heart and bind up my wounds, however long that takes.

Let healing not be rushed, but let it still be real.

5. Psalms 6:2 (KJV)

“Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.”

Prayer: Heal me, Lord, my bones are in agony. Let this honest cry actually reach You.

Let honesty about the pain come before I try to sound braver than I feel.

6. Psalms 34:17-19 (KJV)

“The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.”

Prayer: I’m crying out, hear me, and deliver me from all my troubles, close to my broken heart.

Let deliverance be as thorough as this promise claims.

7. Psalms 91:1-2 (KJV)

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”

Prayer: Let me dwell in Your shelter, my refuge and fortress, the God in whom I trust.

Let dwelling there cover this whole illness, not just the worst of it.

8. Psalms 121:1-2 (KJV)

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”

Prayer: I lift my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from You.

Let real help be found, not just distraction from how I feel.

9. Psalms 116:1-8 (KJV)

“I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul. Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful. The LORD preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me. Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee. For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.”

Prayer: You heard my voice, delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.

Let this same rescue reach me the way it reached the one who wrote this.

10. Psalms 30:11-12 (KJV)

“Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.”

Prayer: Turn my wailing into dancing, clothe me with joy, so my heart may sing and not be silent.

Let joy be waiting at the end of this, not just relief.

11. Psalms 107:19-20 (KJV)

“Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”

Prayer: I cried out to You, and You saved me, sent Your word and healed me.

Let Your word carry the same weight it always has.

12. Psalms 73:26 (KJV)

“My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.”

Prayer: My flesh and my heart may fail, but You are the strength of my heart forever.

Let Your strength stand in exactly where mine gives out.

13. Psalms 38:3 (KJV)

“There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.”

Prayer: There is no health in my bones because of my sin. Let me be honest about what needs healing, all of it, not just the physical.

Let honesty here cover more than just the visible symptoms.

14. Psalms 88:1-2 (KJV)

“O LORD God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee: Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry;”

Prayer: I cry out day and night before You. Let my prayer reach You even when I feel like nothing’s changing.

Let You hear this even on the days it feels like shouting into silence.

15. Psalms 6:6-9 (KJV)

“I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears. Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies. Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping. The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.”

Prayer: I am worn out from groaning, but You have heard my weeping and accepted my prayer.

Let being heard be enough for today, even before anything visibly changes.

16. Psalms 42:11 (KJV)

“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.”

Prayer: Why am I downcast, why so disturbed within me? Let me put my hope in You, even while I ask honestly.

Let honesty come before I try to talk myself out of how I feel.

17. Psalms 55:22 (KJV)

“Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”

Prayer: I’m casting this burden on You, trusting You to sustain me.

Let casting it be real relief, not just words.

18. Psalms 143:8 (KJV)

“Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.”

Prayer: Let me hear of Your unfailing love this morning, for I put my trust in You.

Let today’s mercy be the thing that steadies me.

19. Psalms 46:1 (KJV)

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

Prayer: You are my refuge and strength, a very present help in this exact kind of trouble.

Let help feel present, not distant, today.

20. Psalms 118:17 (KJV)

“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.”

Prayer: I will not die but live, and proclaim what You have done.

Let this become a story worth telling later, not just endured now.

21. Psalms 27:1 (KJV)

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

Prayer: You are my light and salvation, whom shall I fear, not even this illness.

Let fear lose its grip the moment I remember who You are.

22. Psalms 121:7-8 (KJV)

“The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”

Prayer: Keep me from all harm, watch over my life, my coming and going.

Let watching cover every hour of this illness.

23. Psalms 138:3 (KJV)

“In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.”

Prayer: When I called, You answered, and made me bold and stouthearted.

Let boldness replace whatever discouragement I’m carrying.

24. Psalms 139:14 (KJV)

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”

Prayer: I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Let me trust that even now, while this body struggles.

Let this truth hold even while something isn’t working right.

25. Psalms 84:11 (KJV)

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.”

Prayer: No good thing do You withhold from those who walk uprightly.

Let me trust that healing counts among the good things You’re not withholding.

26. Psalms 23:1-3 (KJV)

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”

Prayer: You are my shepherd, I shall not want. You restore my soul.

Let restoration reach body and soul together.

27. Psalms 34:4 (KJV)

“I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”

Prayer: I sought You and You answered me, delivered me from all my fears.

Let deliverance come quickly, not slowly.

28. Psalms 40:1-3 (KJV)

“I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.”

Prayer: Lift me out of this slimy pit, set my feet on a rock, and give me a new song to sing.

Let this healing be visible enough that others notice it too.

29. Psalms 71:20-21 (KJV)

“Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth. Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.”

Prayer: Restore my life again, and comfort me once more, the way You’ve done before.

Let this not be the first time You’ve healed me like this.

30. Psalms 146:8 (KJV)

“The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous:”

Prayer: You give sight to the blind and lift up those who are bowed down.

Let me be lifted the way this verse describes, not left bent under this weight.

Conclusion

David wrote both kinds of psalms, the ones still in the middle of the pain and the ones already looking back on healing. Both belong in Scripture, and both belong in how you pray through this too.

Read this the way David wrote it, honestly, whichever part of the story you’re currently in.

For the fuller biblical picture of healing beyond just the Psalms, a prayer for healing in the bible pairs well with this one.
