Paul wrote his own goodbye near the end of his life: “The time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Short, plain sentences for an enormous moment.
These thirty verses are for that same kind of goodbye, brief enough to say at a graveside or over an urn without needing to compose a speech.
Say one, or say all thirty. There’s no wrong amount for a goodbye like this.

Conclusion
Paul didn’t need a long speech for his own goodbye. A few honest lines were enough, and they still are.
Say what needs saying, simply, and let that be complete.
For the grief that follows after the goodbye is said, a prayer for death of a loved one is there for the days ahead.
