Jabez gets exactly four verses in all of Chronicles, and most of them are one simple, bold prayer: “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory.” Scripture doesn’t linger on the request. It just says plainly, “God granted his request.”
These thirty verses are for that same kind of asking, blessing prayed for directly, without apologizing for wanting more of God’s favor and provision.
Pray these boldly, the way Jabez did, expecting an actual answer.
Prayer for Blessing
1. 1 Chronicles 4:10 (KJV)
“And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.”
Prayer: Oh, that You would bless me and enlarge my territory, let Your hand be with me.
Let this prayer be answered as plainly as it was for Jabez.
2. Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
“The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.”
Prayer: Bless me and keep me, make Your face shine on me, and give me peace.
Let this ancient blessing be spoken over my life today.
3. Genesis 12:2-3 (KJV)
“And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
Prayer: Bless me, and let me become a blessing to others because of it.
Let blessing flow through me, not stop with me.
4. Deuteronomy 28:2-6 (KJV)
“And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God. Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.”
Prayer: Let these blessings come on me and overtake me, in the city and in the field.
Let blessing follow me into every ordinary place I go.
5. Psalms 67:1 (KJV)

Let being remembered by You matter more than anything I’m chasing.
7. Psalms 128:1-2 (KJV)

Prayer: Test me in this, and open the floodgates of heaven, pour out blessing I don’t have room for.
Let generosity toward You open the door to this kind of blessing.
10. Ephesians 1:3 (KJV)
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:”

11. Luke 6:38 (KJV)

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.”
Prayer: You withhold no good thing from those who walk uprightly.
Let me trust that promise while I’m still waiting to see it.
15. James 1:17 (KJV)

Prayer: Let the land yield its harvest, and let You, my God, bless me.
Let blessing be evident enough that others notice it’s from You.
Conclusion
What stands out about Jabez isn’t the size of his request. It’s that he asked directly, without hedging, and Scripture records the answer just as directly: God granted it. Blessing isn’t something to feel awkward about wanting.
Ask specifically, the way Jabez did, and keep a record of what you’ve asked for so you can recognize the answer when it comes.
For blessing paired with protection over what you already have, a prayer for prosperity and protection, and for favor specifically, a prayer for favor both go further into it.
