30 Prayer for Deliverance and Breakthrough With Scriptures to Back

The Israelites stood at the edge of the Red Sea with Pharaoh’s army closing in behind them and nowhere left to run. Moses told them to stand firm and watch the deliverance God was about to bring, and then the sea split in two. Sometimes breakthrough looks exactly like a wall of water pulling back from a road that shouldn’t exist.

These thirty verses are for whatever has you cornered right now, the situation with no visible way through.

Pray these expecting something to move, not just hoping it eventually will.

Prayer for Deliverance and Breakthrough

1. Exodus 14:13-14 (KJV)

“And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”

Prayer: Let me stand firm and see the deliverance You will bring today, trusting You to fight this battle.

Let me stop trying to force my own way through and actually watch for Yours.

2. Exodus 14:21-22 (KJV)

“And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.”

Prayer: You drove back what stood in the way, and made a path where there wasn’t one. Do that here too.

Let a way open that I currently can’t see any sign of.

3. Psalms 34:17-19 (KJV)

“The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.”

Prayer: I’m crying out, hear me, and deliver me from all my troubles.

Let deliverance be as complete as this promise describes.

4. Psalms 18:16-19 (KJV)

“He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me. They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay. He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.”

Prayer: Reach down from on high and take hold of me, draw me out of these deep waters, into a spacious place.

Let there be real room ahead, not just relief from the pressure.

5. 2 Samuel 22:2-3 (KJV)

“And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.”

Prayer: You are my rock, my fortress, my deliverer. Be exactly that over this situation now.

Let every one of these names mean something specific today.

6. Psalms 40:1-3 (KJV)

“I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.”

Prayer: Lift me out of this slimy pit, set my feet on a rock, and give me a new song to sing.

Let this breakthrough be visible enough that other people notice too.

7. Daniel 3:25 (KJV)

“He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”

Prayer: Let there be a fourth man in this fire with me, the way there was for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

Let me come through this without even the smell of smoke on me.

8. Daniel 6:22 (KJV)

“My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.”

Prayer: Send Your angel to shut whatever mouths are threatening me, the way You did for Daniel.

Let what’s roaring against me be silenced completely.

9. Acts 12:6-11 (KJV)

“And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision. When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him. And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the LORD hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.”

Prayer: Let chains fall off the way they did for Peter, and let the door I need opened simply open.

Let this breakthrough feel as sudden and undeniable as his did.

10. Acts 16:25-26 (KJV)

“And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.”

Prayer: Let praise in the middle of this hard place shake something loose, the way it did for Paul and Silas.

Let worship be part of what actually moves this situation.

11. Psalms 107:13-14 (KJV)

“Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.”

Prayer: I cried out to You in my trouble, and You saved me from my distress, broke my chains apart.

Let chains here mean anything holding me back, seen or unseen.

12. Isaiah 61:1 (KJV)

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;”

Prayer: You proclaim freedom for captives and release from darkness for prisoners. Let that be true for me now.

Let this freedom reach exactly what’s been holding me captive.

13. Luke 4:18 (KJV)

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,”

Prayer: You came to proclaim freedom for prisoners and set the oppressed free. Let that mission reach me today.

Let freedom be as central to my situation as it was to Your whole ministry.

14. John 8:36 (KJV)

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

Prayer: If the Son sets me free, I am free indeed. Let that freedom be real, not partial.

Let indeed mean indeed, not just theoretically.

15. Romans 8:2 (KJV)

“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”

Prayer: The law of the Spirit of life has set me free from the law of sin and death. Let that freedom cover this too.

Let this freedom be as thorough as the verse describes.

16. Galatians 5:1 (KJV)

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”

Prayer: Christ set me free to live free. Let me stand firm in that, not slide back into whatever bound me before.

Let this freedom actually hold, not just be a temporary relief.

17. 2 Corinthians 3:17 (KJV)

“Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”

Prayer: Where Your Spirit is, there is freedom. Let Your Spirit fill this exact situation.

Let freedom follow wherever Your Spirit actually shows up.

18. Psalms 118:5 (KJV)

“I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.”

Prayer: In my anguish I cried to You, and You answered by setting me free.

Let this pattern repeat here, crying out followed by real freedom.

19. Psalms 34:4 (KJV)

“I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”

Prayer: I sought You and You answered me, delivered me from all my fears.

Let deliverance from fear come alongside deliverance from the situation itself.

20. Nahum 1:13 (KJV)

“For now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder.”

Prayer: Break the yoke off my neck and tear away these shackles, whatever form they’ve taken.

Let this be complete, not just loosened.

21. Isaiah 10:27 (KJV)

“And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”

Prayer: Let this burden be lifted from my shoulders, this yoke broken from my neck.

Let relief here be real and lasting, not temporary.

22. Psalms 66:12 (KJV)

“Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.”

Prayer: I’ve gone through fire and water, but You are bringing me to a place of abundance.

Let abundance be waiting on the other side of what I’m walking through now.

23. Micah 7:8 (KJV)

“Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.”

Prayer: Though I have fallen, I will rise. Let rising be exactly what happens next.

Let this fall not be the end of the story.

24. Psalms 30:11-12 (KJV)

“Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.”

Prayer: Turn my wailing into dancing, clothe me with joy, so my heart may sing and not be silent.

Let this breakthrough be worth celebrating loudly.

25. Habakkuk 3:19 (KJV)

“The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.”

Prayer: The Lord God is my strength, He makes my feet like the deer’s, able to walk the high, hard places.

Let sure footing come even on ground that currently feels unstable.

26. Ephesians 6:12-13 (KJV)

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

Prayer: This struggle isn’t against flesh and blood. Let me put on Your full armor and stand my ground today.

Let me fight this the right way, not just react to what I can see.

27. 2 Corinthians 10:4 (KJV)

“(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)”

Prayer: My weapons have divine power to demolish strongholds. Let that power be at work in this exact one.

Let this stronghold actually come down, not just weaken temporarily.

28. Isaiah 54:17 (KJV)

“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.”

Prayer: No weapon forged against me will prevail. Let that be true over whatever’s aimed at me right now.

Let this promise cover threats I can see and the ones I can’t.

29. Romans 8:37 (KJV)

“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”

Prayer: In all this I am more than a conqueror through You who loved me.

Let victory here be more than just surviving, let it be real conquest.

30. Psalms 118:14 (KJV)

“The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.”

Prayer: You are my strength and my song, You have become my salvation, right here, right now.

Let today have a real breakthrough worth singing about.

Conclusion

The Israelites had to actually walk into the sea bed before the walls of water made any sense as deliverance. Faith moved before the whole picture was clear.

Pray these expecting the water to move, and then be ready to walk through when it does.

For the strength to keep standing while you wait, a prayer for strength and guidance pairs well with this one.
