30 Prayer for Self-Healing With Scriptures to Back

A woman who had been bleeding for twelve years pushed through a crowd, believing that if she could just touch the edge of Jesus’s cloak, she would be healed. Nobody prayed that prayer for her. She reached out herself, in her own faith, for her own healing.

These thirty verses are for that same kind of personal reaching, praying over your own body and heart when no one else is available to pray it for you.

Pray these over yourself the way she reached for that cloak, directly and without waiting for permission.

Prayer for Self-Healing

1. Mark 5:25-29 (KJV)

“And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.”

Prayer: Like her, let me reach for You directly, trusting that even a small act of faith is enough to bring healing.

Let my own reaching toward You be enough today.

2. Mark 5:34 (KJV)

“And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.”

Prayer: Let my own faith be part of what heals me, the way You said to her.

Let this be true for me too, not just for people in Scripture.

3. Psalms 103:2-3 (KJV)

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;”

Prayer: Let me not forget Your benefits, You who forgive all my sins and heal all my diseases.

Let gratitude for past healing give me faith for this one.

4. Jeremiah 17:14 (KJV)

“Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.”

Prayer: Heal me, Lord, and I shall be healed, save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise.

Let this honest, personal cry be enough today.

5. Psalms 41:4 (KJV)

“I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.”

Prayer: Have mercy on me, heal me, even where I’ve contributed to my own struggle.

Let honesty about my own part in this come before I ask for healing.

6. Exodus 15:26 (KJV)

“And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.”

Prayer: You are the Lord who heals me. Let that be true over this specific, personal need today.

Let this name mean something specific to what I’m carrying.

7. James 5:16 (KJV)

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

Prayer: Let me confess honestly and pray, trusting that healing follows honest prayer.

Let honesty be the first step toward healing, not something I skip past.

8. Psalms 6:2 (KJV)

“Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.”

Prayer: Heal me, Lord, my body is in agony. Let this honest cry actually reach You.

Let honesty about the pain come before I try to sound braver than I feel.

9. 3 John 1:2 (KJV)

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

Prayer: I pray that I may prosper and be in good health, the way this old letter blessed a friend.

Let this simple wish become true for me.

10. Isaiah 53:5 (KJV)

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

Prayer: By Your wounds I am healed. Let this ancient promise be present tense for me today.

Let this verse be more than poetry, let it be medicine for me personally.

11. Matthew 9:22 (KJV)

“But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.”

Prayer: Let my own faith be part of what makes me well, the way it was for her.

Let this be true for my own specific situation.

12. Philippians 4:13 (KJV)

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

Prayer: I can do this through Christ who strengthens me, including the healing I need for myself.

Let strength cover what I have no reserves left for.

13. Psalms 30:2 (KJV)

“O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.”

Prayer: I called to You for help, and You healed me. Let that be true again, for me, right now.

Let calling out and healing happen close together this time.

14. Psalms 147:3 (KJV)

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

Prayer: Heal my own broken heart and bind up my wounds, however long that takes.

Let healing not be rushed, but let it still be real for me.

15. 2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV)

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

Prayer: Your grace is sufficient for me, Your power made perfect in my weakness.

Let my weakness be exactly where Your power shows up clearest.

16. Psalms 34:17-18 (KJV)

“The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”

Prayer: I’m crying out, hear me, and be close to my broken heart right now.

Let closeness be something I can actually feel today.

17. Hebrews 4:16 (KJV)

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

Prayer: Let me approach Your throne of grace with confidence, and receive the mercy I need for myself right now.

Let confidence come from Your character, not from how well I think I’ve earned this.

18. Psalms 139:14 (KJV)

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”

Prayer: I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Let me believe that about myself even while I’m struggling.

Let my sense of worth not depend on feeling well right now.

19. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (KJV)

“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

Prayer: My body is a temple of Your Spirit. Let me honor it, and let You restore what’s broken in it.

Let this body matter to me the way it matters to You.

20. Proverbs 4:20-22 (KJV)

“My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.”

Prayer: Let Your words be life to me, health to my whole body, starting today.

Let Your word be part of the actual medicine, not just background comfort.

21. Psalms 118:17 (KJV)

“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.”

Prayer: I will not die but live, and proclaim what You have done in my life.

Let this become a story I get to tell later, not just endure now.

22. Isaiah 58:8 (KJV)

“Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.”

Prayer: Let my healing appear quickly, and let Your glory be visible in how this goes for me.

Let progress be noticeable enough to keep me hopeful.

23. Romans 8:11 (KJV)

“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”

Prayer: The Spirit who raised Christ from the dead lives in me, giving life to my mortal body too.

Let that same resurrection power be at work in me right now.

24. Psalms 42:11 (KJV)

“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.”

Prayer: Why am I downcast, why so disturbed within me? Let me put my hope in You.

Let honesty about how I feel come before I try to talk myself out of it.

25. Nehemiah 8:10 (KJV)

“Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

Prayer: Let the joy of the Lord be my strength today, something sturdier than gritted-teeth effort.

Let joy fuel me, not just obligation.

26. Psalms 73:26 (KJV)

“My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.”

Prayer: My flesh and my heart may fail, but You are the strength of my heart forever.

Let Your strength stand in exactly where mine gives out.

27. 1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

Prayer: I’m casting all my anxiety on You, because You genuinely care about what I’m carrying.

Let casting it be real relief, even if only for this moment.

28. Psalms 46:1 (KJV)

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

Prayer: You are my refuge and strength, a very present help in this exact kind of trouble.

Let help feel present, not distant, today.

29. Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV)

“It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”

Prayer: Your mercies are new every morning. Let today’s mercy be enough for what I’m dealing with today.

Let me not have to carry every future day’s struggle today.

30. Psalms 30:11-12 (KJV)

“Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.”

Prayer: Turn my wailing into dancing, clothe me with joy, so my heart may sing to You and not be silent.

Let joy be waiting for me at the end of this, not just relief.

Conclusion

She didn’t wait for someone else to notice her or pray on her behalf. She pushed through the crowd herself and reached out in her own faith. That kind of personal, direct reaching is still available to you.

Pray these over yourself the way she reached for that cloak, without waiting for anyone else to go first.

For prayer over someone else you love who’s sick, a prayer for a friend with a sick child is a good one to reach for, and a miracle healing prayer for the sick pairs well with this one.
