30 Prayer for Protection Against Negative Forces With Scriptures to Back

Paul described actual armor, piece by piece, belt, breastplate, shoes, shield, helmet, sword, not because ancient believers faced literal swords in church, but because he wanted the picture to be specific enough to actually use. Protection was never meant to be vague.

These thirty verses are for whatever pressure feels like it’s closing in from more than one direction, seen and unseen.

Pray these piece by piece, the way Paul described putting on armor, not all at once in a rush.

Prayer for Protection Against Negative Forces

1. Ephesians 6:10-11 (KJV)

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

Prayer: Let me be strong in You and Your mighty power, and put on Your full armor today.

Let me actually put this on, not just know it exists.

2. Ephesians 6:13-17 (KJV)

“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:”

Prayer: Let me stand firm with truth as my belt, righteousness as my breastplate, faith as my shield, salvation as my helmet.

Let each piece be real, not just symbolic.

3. Psalms 91:1-7 (KJV)

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.”

Prayer: Let me dwell in Your shelter, my refuge and fortress, unafraid of terror by night or arrow by day.

Let this shelter cover me even when I can’t see what’s actually threatening.

4. Psalms 121:7-8 (KJV)

“The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”

Prayer: Keep me from all harm, watch over my life, my coming and going.

Let watching cover what I can see coming and what I can’t.

5. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (KJV)

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”

Prayer: My weapons have divine power to demolish strongholds, not fight the way the world fights.

Let this fight be won on the right terms, not just react to what I see.

6. 1 John 4:4 (KJV)

“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

Prayer: The One who is in me is greater than the one who is in the world.

Let this truth settle any sense of being outmatched.

7. Romans 8:31 (KJV)

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”

Prayer: If You are for me, who can be against me?

Let this settle the outcome more than any amount of worrying could.

8. Isaiah 54:17 (KJV)

“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.”

Prayer: No weapon forged against me will prevail. Let that be true over whatever’s aimed at me.

Let this promise cover threats I can see and the ones I can’t.

9. Psalms 34:7 (KJV)

“The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.”

Prayer: Your angel encamps around those who fear You, and delivers them. Encamp around me now.

Let that circle of protection hold today and every day.

10. Psalms 18:2-3 (KJV)

“The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.”

Prayer: You are my rock, my fortress, my deliverer, my shield, my stronghold, worthy of praise.

Let every one of these names cover what I’m facing today.

11. Nahum 1:7 (KJV)

“The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.”

Prayer: You are good, a refuge in times of trouble, You care for those who trust in You.

Let being cared for feel real, not distant, right now.

12. Psalms 27:1-3 (KJV)

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.”

Prayer: You are my light and salvation, whom shall I fear, my life’s stronghold, of whom shall I be afraid.

Let fear lose its grip even if an army encamps against me.

13. Proverbs 18:10 (KJV)

“The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.”

Prayer: Your name is a fortified tower, let me run into it and be safe.

Let running to You be my first move, not my last resort.

14. Psalms 3:3 (KJV)

“But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.”

Prayer: You are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head.

Let my head stay lifted, whatever’s surrounding me.

15. Deuteronomy 33:27 (KJV)

“The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.”

Prayer: The eternal God is my refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.

Let those arms be underneath everything I’m facing.

16. Psalms 46:1 (KJV)

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

Prayer: You are my refuge and strength, a very present help in this exact kind of trouble.

Let help feel present, not distant, today.

17. James 4:7 (KJV)

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

Prayer: Let me submit myself to You, resist the enemy, and let him flee from me.

Let resistance be real, not just wished for.

18. 1 Peter 5:8-9 (KJV)

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.”

Prayer: Let me be alert and of sober mind, standing firm against whatever’s prowling around right now.

Let awareness keep me from being caught off guard.

19. Colossians 2:15 (KJV)

“And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”

Prayer: You disarmed the powers and authorities, triumphing over them by the cross.

Let this finished victory be what I stand on, not a battle I’m still fighting alone.

20. Luke 10:19 (KJV)

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Prayer: You have given me authority to overcome the enemy, and nothing will harm me.

Let this authority be real, not just theoretical.

21. Psalms 91:9-11 (KJV)

“Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.”

Prayer: Because You are my refuge, let no harm come near me, and command Your angels to guard me.

Let protection be as real as the request I’m making.

22. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 (KJV)

“But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.”

Prayer: You are faithful, and You will strengthen and protect me from the evil one.

Let both promises hold at the same time, strength and protection together.

23. Psalms 121:1-2 (KJV)

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”

Prayer: I lift my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from You.

Let my eyes stay lifted instead of fixed on the threat.

24. Zechariah 2:5 (KJV)

“For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.”

Prayer: Be a wall of fire around me, and the glory in my midst.

Let this protection be visible enough that I actually notice it.

25. Psalms 32:7 (KJV)

“Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.”

Prayer: You are my hiding place, You protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

Let deliverance come with real joy, not just relief.

26. Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)

“The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.”

Prayer: Bless me and keep me, make Your face shine on me, and give me peace against whatever comes.

Let this old blessing be real protection, not just a nice phrase.

27. Psalms 5:11-12 (KJV)

“But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.”

Prayer: Spread Your protection over me, surround me with Your favor as with a shield.

Let that shield be up before I even ask for it.

28. Romans 16:20 (KJV)

“And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.”

Prayer: The God of peace will soon crush the enemy under my feet.

Let this be soon, not indefinitely delayed.

29. Revelation 12:11 (KJV)

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

Prayer: Let me overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony.

Let my own story of what You’ve done be part of what wins this too.

30. Psalms 138:7 (KJV)

“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.”

Prayer: Even walking in the midst of trouble, You preserve my life, stretch out Your hand and save me.

Let Your hand be visible in how this all turns out.

Conclusion

Paul never said the armor made the fight easy. He said it made standing possible, piece by piece, deliberately put on, not assumed to already be there.

Put this on today the way you’d put on real armor, item by item, not in a rush.

For the more specific, named request Jesus taught us to pray, a prayer for deliverance from evil pairs directly with this one.
