By Pst. Williams ChurchillOctober 21, 2025

The longing to see lives turned toward God is at the heart of every sincere believer. A prayer for salvation of souls asks God to move in hearts that are lost, to open eyes blinded by sin, and to call people into life with Christ. These prayers are not magical formulas but humble petitions that invite the Holy Spirit to awaken faith, repentance, and new birth.

Each item below pairs Scripture with a focused prayer and brief reflection to encourage intercession for those who have not yet trusted Jesus. Use these prayer for salvation of souls as a guide in private devotion, corporate prayer, or when interceding for specific people you love.

    Prayer For Salvation Of Souls

    1. Acts 3:19 (ESV)

Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out,

Lord, stir repentance in the hearts of those who are far from You. Convict them of sin and draw them to genuine turning so that Your forgiveness may be received.

This verse links repentance with forgiveness. Asking God to awaken sorrow for sin opens the door for salvation.

As we pray, we ask the Holy Spirit to remove resistance and to make turning to Christ the natural response of the heart.

    2. Romans 10:9 (ESV)

Because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Father, give those I love simple, saving faith to confess Jesus as Lord and to believe in His resurrection. Let their confession spring from true belief and bring life.

This verse shows the simplicity and power of saving faith. Confession and belief unite to bring someone into God’s saving grace.

Pray that God would remove doubt and replace it with the assurance that comes from trusting Christ alone.

    3. John 3:16 (ESV)

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Lord, let Your love reach those who do not yet know You. Help them see that salvation is motivated by Your generous love and that belief in Jesus brings eternal life.

This verse places God’s love at the center of salvation. When people grasp God’s love, their hearts soften to the gospel.

Pray that the good news would sound fresh and irresistible, turning curiosity into faith.

    4. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

Lord, bring new birth where there is spiritual death. Transform lives into new creations that reflect Your character and purpose.

This verse promises radical change for those who enter Christ. Salvation rewrites identity from old to new.

Intercede that God would begin visible transformation as proof of His saving work.

    5. Ephesians 2:8 (ESV)

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,

Father, reveal the truth that salvation is Your gracious gift and not human achievement. Let pride give way to humble gratitude in every heart.

This verse reminds us that salvation is entirely by grace through faith. Emphasize humility so people receive, not earn, this gift.

Pray that the Spirit would remove barriers of self-reliance and invite trusting dependence on Christ.

    6. Titus 3:5 (ESV)

He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

Lord, show those lost the mercy that renews and regenerates. Let the Spirit wash hearts clean and birth them into new life.

This verse focuses on mercy and the Spirit’s renewing work. Salvation is both divine mercy and divine action.

Ask God to enact spiritual cleansing that leads to repentance and a transformed life.

    7. Matthew 11:28 (ESV)

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Jesus, draw weary souls to Yourself and give them rest for their burdens. Let those who are tired of striving find peace in Your salvation.

Pray that people worn by life’s burdens will be responsive to Christ’s gentle call to come and find rest.

    8. Romans 6:23 (ESV)

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Lord, open eyes to the seriousness of sin and to the greater beauty of Your gift of eternal life. Let people choose life in Christ over death by sin.

This verse contrasts the consequence of sin with the free gift of God. True urgency often wakes hearts to the need for salvation.

Intercede that God’s offer of eternal life would be received with grateful repentance.

    9. John 14:6 (ESV)

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Lord, make clear to seekers that Jesus is the only true way to the Father. Remove confusion and present Christ as the exclusive path to God.

Pray for boldness to proclaim Jesus plainly and for ears to receive the gospel without offense.

    10. Acts 16:31 (ESV)

And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Father, grant saving faith to entire households and families. May belief spread from one heart to many and bring household transformation.

And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

Lord, help seekers understand that eternal life is found only in Your Son. Let this testimony be convincing and life changing.

This verse points to the source of eternal life. Clear testimony about Christ is crucial for faith to awaken.

Pray that testimonies and gospel proclamation would penetrate hearts and lead to belief.

    13. Hebrews 7:25 (ESV)

Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
