30 Prayer for Deliverance With Scriptures to Back

“He delivered us, and he will deliver us,” Paul wrote about a near-fatal ordeal in Asia, describing deliverance not as a one-time miracle but as a pattern, something God had already done, was still doing, and would keep doing.

These thirty verses trace that same pattern across Scripture, real, specific deliverances, from Egypt to a lions’ den to a locked prison cell.

Pray these expecting the same God who acted then to act now, in whatever you need delivered from.

Prayer for Deliverance

1. 2 Corinthians 1:10 (KJV)

“Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;”

Prayer: You delivered me from deadly peril, and You will deliver me, on You I set my hope You will yet deliver me.

Let this same pattern, past, present, future, hold true for me too.

2. Psalms 34:19 (KJV)

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.”

Prayer: Many are the afflictions I face, but You deliver me from them all.

Let deliverance be complete, not just partial relief.

3. Exodus 3:7-8 (KJV)

“And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.”

Prayer: You have surely seen my affliction and heard my cry, come down and deliver me.

Let You see this the way You saw Israel’s suffering in Egypt.

4. Exodus 14:13 (KJV)

“And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.”

Prayer: Let me stand firm and see the deliverance You will provide today.

Let me not panic before I’ve even seen what You’ll do.

5. Psalms 18:16-19 (KJV)

“He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me. They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay. He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.”

Prayer: Reach down and take hold of me, draw me out of deep waters, deliver me from what’s too strong for me.

Let this rescue reach exactly what I can’t handle alone.

6. Daniel 6:22 (KJV)

“My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.”

Prayer: You sent an angel and shut the mouths of the lions for Daniel. Shut whatever’s threatening to devour me too.

Let this same protection be real for me, not just history.

7. Daniel 3:17 (KJV)

“If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.”

Prayer: The God I serve is able to deliver me from this furnace, and I trust that He will.

Let this confidence hold even before I’ve seen the outcome.

8. Acts 12:7-11 (KJV)

“And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision. When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him. And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the LORD hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.”

Prayer: You sent an angel to free Peter from real chains in a locked cell. Free me from what’s holding me too.

Let chains that feel permanent turn out not to be.

9. Acts 16:25-26 (KJV)

“And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.”

Prayer: Paul and Silas praised You at midnight, and the prison doors flew open. Let praise be part of how I approach this too.

Let doors open that I thought were permanently shut.

10. Psalms 107:6 (KJV)

“Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.”

Prayer: I cried out to You in my trouble, and You delivered me from my distress.

Let crying out and deliverance happen close together.

11. Psalms 107:13-14 (KJV)

“Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.”

Prayer: I cried out, and You saved me from my distress, brought me out of darkness, broke my chains.

Let every chain here be broken, not just loosened.

12. Psalms 40:1-2 (KJV)

“I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.”

Prayer: I waited patiently, and You lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire.

Let waiting end in real, solid ground under my feet.

13. Psalms 91:14-15 (KJV)

“Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.”

Prayer: Because I love You, You will deliver me, protect me, and answer me when I call.

Let this promise hold exactly as it’s written here.

14. Psalms 32:7 (KJV)

“Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.”

Prayer: You are my hiding place, You will protect me and surround me with songs of deliverance.

Let this deliverance be worth singing about.

15. Psalms 34:4 (KJV)

“I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”

Prayer: I sought You, and You answered me, You delivered me from all my fears.

Let fear lose its grip the way it did for the psalmist.

16. Psalms 56:13 (KJV)

“For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?”

Prayer: You have delivered me from death, kept my feet from stumbling.

Let sure footing come even on unstable ground.

17. Psalms 116:8 (KJV)

“For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.”

Prayer: You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.

Let all three of these be true for me at once.

18. Isaiah 49:24-25 (KJV)

“Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.”

Prayer: Even captives taken by the mighty will be rescued, for You contend with those who contend with me.

Let this promise reach whatever feels too strong to take back.

19. Colossians 1:13 (KJV)

“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:”

Prayer: You rescued me from the dominion of darkness and brought me into Your kingdom.

Let this rescue stay final, not something I have to keep fighting for.

20. 2 Timothy 4:18 (KJV)

“And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

Prayer: You will deliver me from every evil attack, and bring me safely to Your heavenly kingdom.

Let this promise cover both today’s trouble and the road ahead.

21. Psalms 25:15 (KJV)

“Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.”

Prayer: My eyes are ever on You, for You alone will release my feet from the snare.

Let my focus stay on You, not the trap itself.

22. Psalms 124:7 (KJV)

“Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.”

Prayer: Let me escape like a bird from the fowler’s snare, the snare is broken and I have escaped.

Let escape be as complete and sudden as this verse describes.

23. Psalms 142:6-7 (KJV)

“Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I. Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.”

Prayer: Listen to my cry, rescue me, set me free from my prison.

Let freedom come whether the prison is literal or not.

24. Jeremiah 1:8 (KJV)

“Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.”

Prayer: Let me not be afraid, for You are with me and will rescue me.

Let Your presence be enough to steady me while I wait for rescue.

25. Luke 4:18 (KJV)

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,”

Prayer: You came to proclaim freedom for prisoners. Let me receive that freedom fully.

Let freedom reach whatever’s kept me bound, seen or unseen.

26. Romans 7:24-25 (KJV)

“O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.”

Prayer: Who will rescue me? Thanks be to You, through Jesus Christ my Lord.

Let this old, honest question find its answer in me again today.

27. Galatians 1:4 (KJV)

“Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:”

Prayer: Christ gave Himself to rescue me from this present evil age.

Let this rescue reach the specific age and circumstances I’m actually in.

28. Psalms 68:19-20 (KJV)

“Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death.”

Prayer: You daily bear my burdens, You are the God of my deliverance.

Let today’s burden be carried, not just noticed.

29. Micah 7:8 (KJV)

“Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.”

Prayer: Though I have fallen, let me rise, though I sit in darkness, You are my light.

Let rising happen even before the darkness fully lifts.

30. Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)

“The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.”

Prayer: Bless me and keep me, make Your face shine on me, and give me peace as I wait for deliverance.

Let this old blessing carry me until deliverance fully arrives.

Conclusion

Every deliverance in that list looked impossible right up until it happened, a sea that wouldn’t part, a den full of lions, a cell with real chains. The pattern Paul described wasn’t wishful thinking. It was a track record he was willing to bet his life on.

Name specifically what you need delivered from, and pray these expecting an answer, not just hoping for one.

For deliverance from spiritual darkness specifically, a prayer for deliverance from evil, and for a financial or circumstantial breakthrough, a prayer for deliverance and breakthrough both go further into it.
