30 Prayer for Peace and Protection With Scriptures to Back

The oldest recorded blessing in Scripture pairs these two things together on purpose: “The Lord bless you and keep you… the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” Protection and peace, spoken as one blessing, not two separate requests.

These thirty verses are for whatever’s making you feel unsafe and unsettled at the same time.

Pray these together, letting the protection settle the peace and the peace settle the fear.

Prayer for Peace and Protection

1. Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)

“The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.”

Prayer: Bless me and keep me, make Your face shine on me, and give me peace, all of it, today.

Let this old blessing feel brand new over me right now.

2. Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Prayer: Let me bring this to You instead of carrying it alone, and let peace guard my heart and mind.

Let peace be real, not just a phrase I repeat.

3. Psalms 4:8 (KJV)

“I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.”

Prayer: Let me lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone make me dwell in safety.

Let peace and safety arrive together tonight.

4. John 14:27 (KJV)

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Prayer: Give me the peace You give, not what the world offers. Let my heart not be troubled or afraid.

Let this peace hold even without the circumstances changing.

5. Psalms 91:1-2 (KJV)

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”

Prayer: Let me dwell in Your shelter today, my refuge and fortress, the God in whom I trust.

Let dwelling there bring both safety and calm.

6. Psalms 121:7-8 (KJV)

“The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”

Prayer: Keep me from all harm, watch over my life, my coming and going, today.

Let watching cover every hour of today.

7. 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (KJV)

“Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.”

Prayer: Lord of peace, give me peace at all times and in every way, not just on the calm days.

Let peace be constant, not conditional on things going smoothly.

8. Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

Prayer: Keep me in perfect peace because my mind is fixed on You, not on everything that could go wrong.

Let my focus be the thing that shifts, not the circumstances.

9. Colossians 3:15 (KJV)

Let peace actually have the final say today.

10. Psalms 29:11 (KJV)

Let this blessing land exactly where I need it.

11. Psalms 34:14 (KJV)

“Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.”

Prayer: Help me seek peace and pursue it, actively, not just wait for it to arrive.

Let me be part of making peace, not just hoping for it.

12. Romans 5:1 (KJV)

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:”

13. Psalms 46:1 (KJV)

Let help feel present, not distant, today.

14. Proverbs 3:24 (KJV)

Let fear stay outside the door tonight.

15. Isaiah 54:10 (KJV)

“For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.”

Prayer: Your covenant of peace will not be removed, even if mountains shake. Let that steadiness be mine today.

Let this promise outlast whatever’s currently shaking.

16. Psalms 119:165 (KJV)

“Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.”

Prayer: Great peace have those who love Your law, nothing can make them stumble. Let that peace be mine.

Let love for You be the root of this peace, not just circumstances lining up.

17. Galatians 5:22 (KJV)

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,”

Prayer: Let peace grow as fruit of Your Spirit in me today, not something I have to manufacture myself.

Let this peace be evidence of Your Spirit at work in me.

18. Psalms 85:8 (KJV)

“I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.”

Prayer: Let me hear what You say, for You speak peace to Your people. Let me listen for that voice today.

Let me actually hear peace spoken, not just hope it’s out there.

19. Ephesians 2:14 (KJV)

“For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;”

Prayer: You Yourself are my peace. Let that truth hold, not just a feeling of peace, but You Yourself.

Let peace be a Person I trust, not just a mood I chase.

20. Psalms 3:5 (KJV)

“I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.”

Prayer: I lie down and sleep, I wake again, because You sustain me through the whole night.

Let waking up tomorrow be evidence of tonight’s answered prayer.

21. Psalms 91:9-11 (KJV)

“Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.”

Prayer: Because You are my refuge, let no harm come near me, and command Your angels to guard me.

Let protection be as real as the peace I’m asking for.

22. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 (KJV)

Let both promises hold at the same time, not one after the other.

23. Psalms 5:11-12 (KJV)

Prayer: Spread Your protection over me, surround me with Your favor as with a shield.

Let that shield be up before I even ask for it.

Let peace and security come from right living, not just avoiding conflict.

25. Psalms 34:4 (KJV)

Let Your presence be the actual source of this peace.

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”

Let my eyes stay lifted instead of fixed on what’s unsettling me.

28. Colossians 1:19-20 (KJV)

Prayer: Don’t let me be afraid, You are with me, strengthening and upholding me with Your righteous hand.

Let this promise be as real to me as it was to whoever first heard it.

Conclusion

That old blessing was spoken over people heading into real uncertainty, not a peaceful, settled life. Peace and protection were never promised as an escape from danger, but as Presence in the middle of it.

Pray these before you walk into whatever’s making you uneasy today.

For the version of this that’s just about the safety side, a prayer for strength and protection goes deeper into that alone, and a prayer for comfort and peace leans further into the peace.
